              Wozos!

We would like to offer up for adoption the newest additions to the Arts & Things family --  the Wozos!  These unique birds flew in from Australia and are the first ones to come to the USA.  Wozos are the creation of Andre Vanne of New South Wales, Australia.  He uses remnants from the furniture industry that would otherwise be discarded -- limbs, butt ends of wood -- to sculpt the bodies.  The heads are cast from reconstituted marble and hand painted.  We are thrilled with these fun, whimsical pieces and feel you will enjoy them as much as we have.

       Shona Sculptures

Come see the wonderful and exciting stone sculptures carved by the Shona of Zimbabwe.  World-famous carvers, the Shona have had exhibitions in the Smithsonian Institution as well as in national art galleries throughout Europe, Africa, and the United States.  Each piece is hand carved in local stone using only traditional hand tools.  Whether a hippo wallowing in a pool or the spirit of a flower, these sculptures bring to life concepts universal to everyone.  These Shona Sculptures are a must see!
